2011

We started this year out with a goodbye...someone ran a red light and Adrian unfortunately hit their car. Our car was totaled. We owned this car for over 4 years and it was sad to see it go!
We had some winter storms come around here that knocked our electricity out all day! Our house was so cold we had to go to my parents house to spend the night. The roads were so icy we couldn't drive anywhere. We couldn't even get out car out of the garage! Since our oven didn't work and we didn't feel like eating sandwiches, Adrian decided to venture out into the cold and walk to Costco to get a pizza! :)
Just a funny picture of one of our cats. He is always laying like this!

Easter was at our house for the first time! We had a great time. My sister and her husband, and my parents came over. Boys playing some Wii..and a funny group picture :).

Once the weather warmed up, Adrian went golfing with my brother in law and my Dad. I actually hit a few balls around and discovered I have a hidden talent!

We did not have any type of fixture in our living room and since the ceilings are so high, that room got so hot in the summer. This summer we decided to hire an electrician to wire in a spot for a ceiling fan. We love it! And it has been so much cooler this summer.
We got some nice pictures taken of us in May for our adoption profile and adoption blog. We think they turned out great! Although it was very humid--I had straight hair at the beginning of the shoot and curly by the end!:)
Adrian's nephew served a two year mission in Iowa for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and came home this July. Luckily he had a layover in our airport so we got to meet him for about an hour! He didn't know that we were surprising his family and him the very next week in Utah for his homecoming talk in church! I still can't believe Adrian has a 21 year old nephew!
The day we were meeting his nephew in the airport was also our anniversary. We celebrated FIVE years of marriage!! I gave Adrian a pillow which probably sounds funny:). (But we REALLY needed one!). And he gave me some perfume from Clinique.
4th of July we spent in Dallas with Amy's family. Here is my brother and his family, my sister and her husband, and my parents.
In July we took a trip with my parents down to Houston to visit my sister and her husband. We had a fun game of bowling (boys against girls), playing Family Feud on the Wii, getting pedicures, and relaxing! Notice how my Dad's bicep makes it into every picture? :)
We flew to Salt Lake City to surprise Adrian's family for his nephew's homecoming talk in July. It was such a fun trip! Neither one of us have ever had to walk directly from the ground into the airplane. We felt really cool like celebrities and had to take a picture! :) We also noticed a few other people taking pictures after they saw us do it!
Adrian got to play some softball with his brother in law and nephews.
These next two pictures are a little blurry, but it's us and Adrian's two nephews Jon and Matt. It was taken the last night we were in Utah at Adrian's Mom's house.
Some more pictures from our trip to Utah:
We went with Amy's family to Galveston, Texas this summer to visit the beach and our favorite water park; Schlitterbahn. This is a picture of Amy's parents. We had taken an unexpected trip to the beach at night and it was a blast!
A funny picture of the guys....
A funny picture of the girls...and Wyatt (Amy's brother) who mysteriously made his way into the picture.
We went on a ferry ride and had fun feeding the seagulls. We even saw a couple dolphins, too.

Just wanted to include a funny picture of one of our cats...they're always cracking us up.
Some of our friends invited us on their boat. Adrian tried wake boarding for the first time...he didn't do as well as he thought he would:)

I on the other hand have been wake boarding before and didn't do well at all, so I played it safe on the tube!:)

Halloween at the ward Trunk or Treat. We usually like to dress up but this year things got really busy and Halloween snuck up on us, so we decided not to. We did however decorate our trunk for all the kiddos coming by.

I love doing crafts of all kind...still trying to learn to sew since Adrian gave me a sewing machine a couple years ago...:) My friends and I get together every now and then for a craft night. I made this Frankenstein.

We got to spend Thanksgiving in Utah visiting Adrian's family. It was a lot of fun! We drove this year since flying is so expensive. We actually don't mind long road trips at all. Amy took a lot of road trips growing up to visit family. The same with Adrian, he took many road trips visiting family and going camping. This first picture is Adrian and his parents. They are the nicest and best in laws ever! They are so thoughtful and are always asking us how we are doing while we are waiting to be matched with a birth mother and birth father.
This is at Temple Square in Salt Lake City with some of Adrian's siblings and nieces and nephews. Still missing about 17 people though! It is so fun being a part of his HUGE family!
We rode the front runner for the first time. Here is 6 of Adrian's nieces and nephews. It was a lot of fun and there was a lot of laughing! And it was also really squished. We nearly missed it the first time because no one had been on it and we didn't realize how fast it comes and goes!
We all decided to go bowling after we ate our Thanksgiving meal at Golden Corral. We usually do not go out to eat for Thanksgiving, but there were a lot of us traveling this year so we thought it would be easier to go out.
We also visited Adrian's grandpa at the VA Hospital in Ogden. Here is a picture of Adrian's siblings and parents and grandparents. He's missing a brother and a sister who weren't able to make it to Thanksgiving this year.
And here is a picture of Adrian and his brothers and dad. He's missing one brother who works at Walmart and was not able to get Thanksgiving off this year.

For Christmas, Adrian got me a camera. I love taking pictures and it was such a fun gift to open. We discovered it has an option on it to take 10 pictures in 10 seconds....my Dad really went to town with it. Here are just a few:

All of my married siblings were with their inlaw's this Christmas, so it was just Adrian and I, my parents, and my youngest brother.

At our house with our cats.
New Years Eve with friends. We didn't make it to midnight, I guess we're getting old! With this new camera Adrian got me, we also discovered that you can turn the display around and watch yourself being photographed. This picture is the result of lots of candy, being late, and laughing really hard before we even got to the picture taking time....:)
